My daughter and I went to see The Swell Season in concert in Tulsa last night and it was great fun! (They are an Irish folk band.)  They did have an opening act and I hate to admit it, but I have no clue who that guy was.  Probably no one else there did either, but I don’t think anyone will forget one particular song, “Dress Sexy at my Funeral.” Yeah, it was interesting.  That one song has me curious enough to actually try to find out who that singer was. (Oh, just did a search, it was Bill Callahan also known as Smog.)

The whole concert was very informal and laid back, which if you’ve ever seen Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova, or The Frames, you know that they are very down-to-earth, laid back people themselves. Right now they are riding the wave of the popularity of their movie, Once and their Oscar-winning song, Falling Slowly. The movie is how I found out about them in the first place.  Fell in love with it and bought the soundtrack. Love that, too. Miranda and I were both very excited to see them perform live. It was a very nice evening.

I just finished creating my first ever fan page. I’m not really much of a celebrity chaser, but I really like the music of Eran James and he is not well known here in the states, so I thought I’d gather some info. on the guy. My friend, Dean, (or Dinn as he likes to spell it) who lives in Australia is the one who first shared Eran’s music with me. I’m glad he did.

My husband and I just watched this movie this evening and we loved it!  If you are married, planning to ever be married, or especially if you are facing some challenges in your marriage right now, this movie is a “must see.”  You will laugh (a lot,) cry a bit and find yourself really immersed in the turmoils this couple experience.
